Hélène Fyffe is an HCPC registered Chartered Physiotherapist recently qualified from Robert Gordon University, Scotland’s top ranked Physiotherapy course, with an MSc (Distinction).
Hélène spent the first 8 years of her career working in Marketing for leading Technology companies in London, Melbourne and Leeds. Having experienced corporate burnout and sustained sports-related injuries herself, her approach with patients considers stress management and embodies effective communication and a customer/patient experience focus.
As part of her MSc training, Hélène has treated patients with workplace and sports injuries in Private MSK practice, incorporating manual therapies and exercise rehabilitation. She has worked across NHS Scotland in Orthopaedic Trauma post-operative rehab, Paediatric Neurological conditions including Cerebral Palsy and Down’s Syndrome, and Elderly rehabilitation in the community. Her interests include Sports & Workplace injury rehab, Preventative Rehabilitation, Children with Neurological conditions, and Pelvic Health. Hélène is continuously expanding her knowledge through courses, training, and followship of the latest physiotherapy evidence base.
Group Exercise Classes
A passion of hers is teaching specialised group exercise classes, including adults with Parkinson’s Disease, and Cardiorespiratory patients. She has also taught community exercise classes with over 60’s to help maintain good fitness, strength and balance, which she plans on continuing in Edinburgh in 2024!
Physical Activity & Mental Wellbeing
Her MSc research project explored the effects of Mindfulness with Walking on the physical activity and mental wellbeing of healthy adults, and she feels passionately about the health benefits. Her work extended to developing ‘Mindful Walking’ audio guides which NHS Grampian have since implemented with staff to improve mental wellbeing.
