Elaine graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1987, and subsequently worked at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham gaining experience across many clinical areas, but specialising in Orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She worked at major London Teaching Hospitals at senior level, including the Royal London Sports Injuries Clinic.
Elaine moved to work in Community Health in Edinburgh and then joined Taylor Physiotherapy in 2001 and has been based there since then.
In addition to treating general musculoskeletal condition, Elaine coordinates the Women’s Health specialty at Taylor Physiotherapy. She has undertaken specialist training for the treatment of incontinence, pelvic and pregnancy related pain. This includes specialised treatment for urinary incontinence ( both stress and urgency) , pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and pain in the pelvic girdle and back related to pregnancy.
Elaine also provides assessment following pregnancy for the pelvic floor and return to exercise advice.
